Well dear blog readers, it would appear that I've been silenced once again by one my children. I did have a really entertaining post ready to go right after #1 took his road test.
Yes.
We let him do the road test. And while some of you are saying "are you nuts?" or "what the hell?", after the quad incident, we did what needed to be done. We took the advice from one whom we trust and has done a world of good where #1 is concerned.
And well.... we weren't paying for it. He was.
I had told him that when he passes the road test and gets the license, we will foot the bill... and well, there's no money out of pocket here.... But....I can't tell you about it. Which is really too bad.
What I will tell you about is the sound of the phone ringing at 3:21 am and how it makes one wake up instantly, and be, for the most part, able to understand and function and react and make decisions. Amazing, it really is.
My offices' alarm monitoring company called me. Apparently, there was an alarm that was triggered in the "south warehouse" and would I come and check it out.
Uhmmm....hello?
"Why are you calling me?"
"Because you're on the list."
"Great.... I live an hour away..."
"Well, you're on the list."
"Is (insert owner's name here) on the list?"
"No, he's not on the list."
"Who else is on the list?"
"Ma'am (how I hate that!)...what would you like us to do? Shall we call the police?"
"Any other options?"
"Yes ma'am, we can dismiss the call."
"Do that. I'll take care of it from here.... you know.... an hour away. Thanks for calling by the way...."
I stumbled out of bed, because you know, all that brain activity right from the get go, well, yes, one would stumble, and I headed to my cell phone. Because we all know that every number we'd could ever possibly imagine we would ever need, is stored in our cell phone.
I called the "operations manager" and let her know the alarm had gone off and that she best be getting her butt to the office.
Needless to say, there were some changes made to "the list" today. I am no longer on it.
I am however, very tired.
Ciao!
